Starting life anew here, we have been preoccupied with the little things such as getting a house, a car, a bank, an internet connection, etc. Even though I call this adventure my 3 year vacation, it hasn't always felt much like one. But now, with things a bit more settled, I can finally chronicle below some local FUN for the Fuller's.
Zeke & Lily on their first double-decker bus ride. They sat in the very back and then in the very front. The views were interesting...above the stoplights and level with 2nd story apartment windows. It was the highlight of the day for the kids.
This is the pub in Cambridge where Watson and Crick first announced that they had discovered the secret of life-DNA. Actually, Crick announced it and Watson was a bit embarrassed by it because in England "understatement is a way of life." They ate in this room 6 days a week. We enjoyed a good pub grub lunch while reminiscing about our own Watson & Crick (our first two cats) so named while Josh was studying biology in college.
This lone apple tree at Trinity College is supposedly a descendant of the very apple tree whose fruit bonked Sir Isaac Newton on the head and inspired his investigation of gravity. It's very old and doesn't produce apples anymore. However, we could see a few which were apparently tied on by mischievous students.
